- If anyone gets in any kind of altercation, your team will be immediately disqualified and you will be asked to leave the premises. REMEMBER, we are playing for CHARITY, NOT for a roster spot on the Knicks OR a cash prize
- Each team will be placed into 1 of 5 divisions based on skill-set and age
- The first round of games are divisional round games. In the divisional round, each team will play 5 games.
- The team with the best record from each division will move on to a single elimination championship bracket.
- Divisional round games will be the first to score 7 points. Each basket is worth 1 point, NO 2 POINTERS
- The are NO ‘Win by 2’ in the divisional round games
- Players AND the designated game manager will be responsible for keeping the score of the games
- The 1st possession at the start of each game will be determined by a coin flip or number pick conducted by the referee at each court – When we get to the championship level rounds, this will be determined by the team that makes a 3-pt basket
- There are 6 TEAM FOULS per game. Once the 7th TEAM FOUL is committed, every shooting and non-shooting foul from there and going forward, results in free throw opportunities (where both free throw must be made to result in a point). These free throws are treated as 1 and 1’s where the ball is live on the release. If the first free throw is missed, the ball is live off of the rebound. Same goes for the second free throw. BOTH free throws made equal to ONE point. If both free throws are made, possession goes to the ‘loser’
- A game CAN BE WON on free throws. If it is game point and a foul is committed and that team is over their limit, whether it be a shooting or non-shooting foul, the player in which the foul was committed on, will have the opportunity to score the game point at the free throw line. The above free throw rules apply in this situation.
- If an intentional foul is called during a game (discretion of the referee), that will result in an automatic point and possession for the team in which the foul was committed on. THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE.
- If there is a foul AND a basket made (AND1), the basket is good and the ball is then checked by the ‘loser’. The foul will count against the fouling team
- If a foul is committed in a shooting/scoring situation, the foul will be called and the ball is to be re-checked, with possession for the team in which the foul was committed on
- After the ball is checked at the top of the key, 1 pass MUST be made before a team attempts to score
- On a defensive rebound, the ball must be cleared anywhere beyond where the ball was originally checked
- LOSERS check ball after a made basket
- At the end of each game, a winning team representative AND game manager will go over to the DJ booth where there will be someone keeping track of the results and scores of each game.
- If there are two teams that have identical records within their division, there will be a one game tiebreaker, played to 3 points, straight. The winner of this game will move on to the championship bracket as the division winner. If there are 3 teams in a division with identical records, the two teams with the highest point differential will play for the divisional crown, while the lowest point differential team will be eliminated
- Seedings for the championship bracket will be determined by divisional record and point differential
- 5 teams will make it to the championship bracket (1 from each division)
- The championship bracket rounds will be played on the main courts, single elimination. One team will have a ‘bye’ in the opening round. (Same rules as above will apply, except games will be played to 12, straight, with 1 and 2 point baskets)
